Hi ..my name is Barb and im a donor mom. I lost my son on December 10,2007 he was brain dead.  I decided to donate his organs/tissues.  Ive been in contact with 2 of his recipients. One a kidney and the other his pancreas recipients.  I just wish more people wouldn't be afraid to become a donor.  Most people say they want to die with it.  What good is it to them when they dispose of the organs and would never  be able to help others live on such as yourselfs.  My son was a "Giver" and i just wish others would also. God Bless

My name is Imelda. I'm sorry to hear about your son. I am happy to hear that he was able to help others through organ donation. I became a recpient of a heart/double lungs on June 1, 2007. I wrote a letter to my donors family shortly after my transplant but never heard back. You are a strong and wonderful lady! I wish more people were like you. -Hugs-

I have to agree with you on that one. So many lives can be saved simply by saying yes. Do you still keep in contact with your son's recipients? How old was your son?
