My Heavenly Valentine – 2026

My Heavenly Valentine – 2026

Hello My Love,

It’s been five years since I’ve held you, kissed you, or heard you say “I love you.” That still feels impossible to write. Some days it feels like just yesterday, and other days it feels like a lifetime ago. I still miss hearing your voice. I still miss your laugh. And as you already know, you will always be the love of my life.

These five years have not been easy, but they have been filled with purpose. Our charity and our family continue to keep me busy. Our work still masks pain at times, but it doesn’t erase it. Nothing ever will. I’ve just learned how to carry it differently. The sadness isn’t as overwhelming as it was in the beginning, but my love for you is just as strong, maybe even stronger.

Right after you left, the emptiness was unbearable. But knowing you were no longer struggling to breathe, knowing you were finally at peace, and feeling your love as you became our family’s protector gave me strength. Yet, even with that comfort, I miss you. I will always miss you.

Your dream and our charity didn’t just survive, it has grown. I promise you, I will keep working, keep giving my time, and keep pushing forward to honor that dream. Your daughter has taken the lead role and runs your charity with precision. Every day she reminds me more and more of you.

You started on this journey of giving the gift of life. We may not physically perform miracles, but we help people afford the chance at one. That matters. And that is your legacy.

As I sit here wiping tears from my eyes again, I realize something hasn’t changed since the first Valentine’s Day without you: you gave me the greatest gift of all—your love. You taught me that true love doesn’t end when someone leaves this earth. It grows. It multiplies. It gets shared. I will continue to share your love with as many people as I can.

Thank you for our love story. Thank you for the family you gave me. Thank you for walking beside me for all those years, and for still walking beside me in a different way now.

I love you, Mary. I will always love you. Today would have been our 22nd wedding anniversary. Our strength and our love shine bright. A light that was never meant to dim.

Forever my Valentine.

Love,
Ken
