November 2025 Spotlight: Kassidy

Kassidy received her first kidney transplant at just seven years old after an E. coli infection caused her kidneys to fail. That gift gave her 10 precious years of improved health. But when her kidney function began to decline again, she bravely faced end-stage renal disease, diabetes, dialysis, and even cardiac arrest—all while finishing high school.

Her mom, Julia, donated a kidney through the National Kidney Registry to help Kassidy find a match, even as she later battled breast cancer herself. After a long and emotional journey, on October 17, 2025, Kassidy received her second kidney transplant! 💚

Kassidy is now home recovering, but her family continues to face financial hardship as both parents take unpaid time off to care for her through frequent follow-up visits at CHOP. This Mission Monday helps support Kassidy’s recovery and the family who’s given everything for her second chance at life.
